Sixty Years Gone By…in a flash
June 29, 2010 at 5:43 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | 9 CommentsThis was me some sixty years ago.
I was a very different person
some sixty years ago.
I was devil may care
some sixty years ago,
with time,
I thought,
for everything.
Now I know,
some sixty years out
that there is not time
for every single thing,
so I do
that which is important
to me now
and my well-being.
Just remember that, you young things.
Just remember our time
is not forever.

You are a beautiful woman, Vi! And I love the imp-ish gleam in your eyes.

this makes so much sense. We should all take time to smell the roses.

You look kinda like my mom’s older sisters in that picture.
By the way, I just saw your comment on my latest entry, the one about my journal. I thought you might like to know that I discovered that a planner is a good way to do a journal since you have limited space for each day and you won’t feel pressured to fill up an entire page or two. If you want to try journaling, you could get a planner and try it to see how it works for you.
My planner has wide horizontal spaces for each day, 3-4 per page, which leaves enough space to write a short account of my day, stick in a ticket or something and anything else I wish to write/glue down for the day. Some days I don’t write about my day, I just write a quote I heard/found.

That’s a good thought, Alexis. I have thought about using a regular, wall hanging calendar, but I like your idea better…I could use the spaces to either write or draw. Mmm, what a good idea. Thank you.

What a great idea. I had thought, Alexis, of using a plain old wall hanging calendar, but yours is a much better idea. I could use the space to write, draw, or attach something. I’ll visit my friendly neighborhood Staples Store tomorrow to see what I can find.

Hello Vi,
What a beautiful picture of you! Yes it seems impossible all those years have flown, doesn’t it.
I have just read all your poetry on this page–as always, you go straight to my heart.
Be well, be blessed, be happy!
